Whimsy, elegance and imagination collide at Verdant Floral Design, making it the perfect match for a once in a life time event, a chic hostess gift or any occasion in between. And their daydream-inspiring interior will have you dropping by their shop on Water Street in the Stonington Boro just to check out what fun they have been up to.
Their window displays are magical, but I promise, a visit inside will deliver an even more dazzling display of tablescapes, fresh cut flowers and, my all time favorite, an impressive array of orchids.
Choose from tall, white and pink statement orchids to petite, wiry velvet purple orchids and miniature terra-cotta potted orchids perfect for a guest room night stand…I could go on and on, but I think you get the point. Their selection is unmatched, and the innate beauty, sophistication and longevity of these orchids make them my got-to signature gift for any occasion, especially as a hostess gift for the holidays.
Verdant is more than just orchids, however. Owned by friends of Saltwater Farm Vineyard, Tino and Norma, Verdant was originally based in New York City and extended its business to Stonington, CT several years ago after family relocated to the area and encouraged them to do the same. Their arrangements range from soft and effortless to distinctively sculptural, and Verdant quickly became a favorite among Saltwater Farm Vineyard’s wedding couples (check out the boutonniere worn by my friend John at his SFV wedding, LOVE).

So whether you are hosting an event in the upcoming year or just looking for something truly special to gift (or to keep), Verdant is a personal tried and true favorite. They are worth the visit from near or far, but aren’t I lucky to have them so close to my home in Stonington.
Cheers to Verdant’s beautiful home on Water Street and many more prosperous years to come!
