Welcome guest blogger, Yumiko Fletcher, of Hana Floral Design! Read on to learn about spring florals and see what she is up to…
We adore Spring here at Hana! Mostly because it’s the start of wedding season for us, and also because we love to work with spring flowers!
Most flowers in the cut floral industry are available year round, but many spring flowers have a short life span and we only get a limited time to work with them, which makes them even more precious!
Let me name a few for you that you’ll likely only see in the Springtime:
Daffodils and Narcissus
Muscari (grape hyacinth)
Flowering branches such as quince and cherry blossoms
A very popular wedding flower that starts late Spring is the peony, one of our absolute favorites here at Hana. Peonies start in May and if we are lucky, go through mid July.
Did you know that some spring flowers, like tulips, grow towards the sun? So if you plan to use them in a shorter more compact arrangement, you may need to clip them a tad shorter than usual.
Here’s just a sampling of some Spring flower arrangements!
Cheers to a new wedding season full of color,
