Before we get into Nikki and Kevin’s wedding, I want to share a sentiment held by the Saltwater Farm Team. That is, the best part of our job at Saltwater Farm (and its not the free wine) is visiting with our past couples when they stop in for a visit. Getting to know couples throughout their planning process is great fun…and of course there is the Big Day. But it’s the visits on anniversaries, summer break or ‘just because’ that take the cake; when all the plans, details, weather forecasts and occasional obligatory wedding guests are all fond memories to be shared over a glass of wine.
Last weekend was no exception with no fewer than five of our past couples dropping in (yes, that was us Saturday afternoon “cheesing” in front of the Christmas tree, I told you it was fun!).
One of the couples who settled in for the afternoon were Nikki and Kevin, who planned their visit to Saltwater Farm Vineyard to celebrate their two year anniversary. Kevin has the distinction of being one of only a few grooms who beat out the bride for the use of the – ahem – bridal suite the day of the wedding.
Their wedding day was much like the December afternoon we were experiencing: seasonably mild with pops of sun and just enough of a chill in the air to put a little rosiness in your cheeks. The mild weather allowed them to take full advantage of the outdoors for their photos; even bare, vines make for a beautiful setting.
Their special night was kicked off with an emotional toast given by two of Nikki’s attendants and a romantic first dance, in the glowing light of the hangar
